Obituary:

Max Earl Kanagy of Ypsilanti, age 67, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 with family by his side. He was born January 31, 1942 in West Liberty, OH. Max earned his PhD from Ohio State University and was currently a Professor of Engineering Technology at Eastern Michigan University. He was an active participant of Shalom Community Church of Ann Arbor and First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. Not only was Max a supporter of Ten Thousand Villages in Ann Arbor but he was a past board member and enjoyed traveling. He pursued a life long quest for knowledge, was a passionate solver of problems and an avid landscaper. Max was a deeply devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and is survived by his wife Norene, children; Renee (Bradley Kauffman) Kanagy and Matthew (Joann Hunsberger) Kanagy, grandchildren; Lucca Kauffman and Jesse Hunsberger Kanagy, one sister;  Phyllis Marie Stevanus and two nephews; Eugene and Mark Stevanus.
