Obituary for Ann Ye Byung Kim

Ann Ye Byung Kim, age 84, passed away on April 21, 2021 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Ann was born in Seoul, Korea on January 26, 1936. She graduated from Kyunggi high school, later to receive her college degree from Ewha Women’s University. Ann married Johng Ho Kim, M.D. and was a proud homemaker, completing one of life's biggest challenges - raising her two sons, Cheon and IL Kim. After moving to Uganda, Africa in 1967 and living there for four years, her family moved to the United States in 1971.

Ann was a devout member of the Korean Christian community of Ann Arbor and remained faithful in her religion. She was known for her outgoing, kind, and caring personality, as well as her warm smile. Ann was also a strong person, overcoming adversity in many ways, yet never failing to show full support and love to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with those she loved. Ann’s life will be cherished forever.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Johng Ho Kim.

Ann is survived by her sons, Cheon (Hyun Sik Ju) and IL (Youngjoo Kim); grandchildren, Rylee and Harrison Kim; and sister, Soon Ja Cho.
