Obituary for Christopher Michael "Chris" Morehouse

Christopher Michael Morehouse, 44, died suddenly in his home July 26, 2022.

From a young age, Chris was an adventurous soul, and would charm people with his stories. Chris was born on October 26, 1977 to Michael and Peggy Morehouse at St. Joes Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He was raised in Ann Arbor and attended Huron High School graduating class of 1996. This is where Chris made some of his lifelong friends and enjoyed working on cars in auto class. A wanderer by nature, he blazed his own path in life. Chris enjoyed hockey, camping, riding two-track trails in his beater trucks, and made his living in the construction trades. He was a self-proclaimed redneck, and had the redneck yin-yang tattoo to prove it. Chris lived every day of his life as fully as he could. He played baseball in the Ypsi Arbor American Little League and he enjoyed coaching his daughter’s soft ball team for many years. He was active as a mentor in AA. Chris was always willing to help those he loved with his brute strength and “cave man” like attitude.

He is survived by his loving father, Mike; younger sisters, Kaitlyn & Erin; younger brother, Kevin; his three children, Kailey, Travis, & Alexis; aunts, Sandy, Carol, Lynn, Maryanne, Donna & Madonna; uncles, Mark, Steve, Joe, Ron, Jerry and Chuck; and many surviving cousins.

Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Peggy; uncles, Tom and Dave; brother, Stuart; sister, Amanda; cousins, Amy and Tim; fraternal grandparents, Claude and Ann Morehouse; and maternal grandparents, Jim and Kay Williams; where he now joins them whole and healed in heaven.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday August 2nd at the Nie Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48108, from 4-6pm, with a brief service at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in Chris’ name to the: Ann Arbor Amateur Hockey Association, P.O. Box 2448, Ann Arbor, MI 48106
