Obituary for Craig Vincent Adams

Craig Vincent Adams passed away unexpectedly on October 30th, 2022 at the age of 36 in his hometown of Ann Arbor, MI.

Craig was predeceased by his father, Alan James Adams. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Rachel, his beloved daughter, Alice Rose, his mother, Mary and two sisters, Michaela and Leslie. He found joy in Penny and Vinny Midnight- the family guinea pig and three-legged cat.

Craig was known for his BIG heart of gold and many would agree he would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, and on more than one occasion has done exactly that. He cared immensely for those close to him and strangers alike. Craig had an air of ‘cool’ that he came by naturally. He had many passions that he loved to share with others- including his love for his family, friends, helping others, social justice, sticking up for the little guy, art, music, fishing, guitar, foraging for fungi with his wife and daughter, hiking and being in nature. Craig had a wicked sense of humor, a penchant for impersonations and an eclectic taste in music that he could talk about for hours.

Craig spent many years working in both landscaping and construction. He was particularly passionate working on restoring homes in the historical district. He was a tinkerer at heart and loved to experiment with different mediums and ‘found’ items. He had an incredible ability to take regular, mundane things and turn them into cherished keepsakes. Craig loved making time for crafting and going on adventure walks with his daughter.

Some of his most cherished memories include traveling out west on a road trip with his father as a middle schooler. He also loved gardening and sharing laughter on the front porch with his mom. He found great joy in spending time at his family cottage in northern Michigan, meeting and falling deeply in love with his wife and becoming the proud and unconditionally loving father to Alice.

Craig was a heartfelt individual and fiercely cared for his family and friends. He often spoke with sincere gratitude for their love and support, especially his unwavering constant, Rachel. Anyone that knew him was aware of his deep and unconditional love for his daughter, Alice. She was the light of his life and the apple of his eye. He beamed with pride for what an incredibly wise, strong and talented gift she is to the world. He was the most protective and fun-loving brother and friend anyone could ever want. Craig had a special and meaningful relationship with his mother, who is a wonderful grandma (‘Pima’) to his daughter. She will carry him in her heart forever.

He was an incredible husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is kindly requesting that donations be made to support funeral and family expenses, or to one of the organizations below that were meaningful to Craig and his family.
