David G. Rocha, age 94, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019. David was born on February 23, 1925 in Lincoln County, Colorado to parents Nabor and Prumela Rocha and was later raised in Saginaw, Michigan along with his seven siblings. He completed the necessary coursework and became a certified x-ray technician in 1955.

David met Elizabeth Huerta while they were both working at the local hospital in Saginaw. The two married in 1955 and had five daughters: Elisabeth September, Rachel, Nanette, Daphne, and Sarah.

David was always active and athletic, often participating in local softball leagues and playing basketball. After retirement and in his early 60’s, David found a new passion in running. He would be involved in the Senior Olympics, where he won many metals and was proud of his achievements.

David is survived by his daughters, Elisabeth September (Ronald) Aguirre, Rachel (Ronald) Brown, Nanette (Thomas) Funke, Daphne Whitmer (Bill Whitmer), and Sarah Rocha; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nabor and Prumela Rocha; his seven siblings; and his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Rocha.
