Lives Well Lived

Virginia and Donald Schneider married for 72 years, died together on November 16, 2020 following an accident. Active retirees in their 90s, they both enjoyed, traveling in their RV, going to auctions and flea markets, and spending time with family. Dad, a retired Teamster, and master mechanic, enjoyed fishing and could fix anything. Mom was the world’s best cook and an active volunteer with St. Francis of Assisi Church.

They leave behind their adult children, Judy, Richard (Adeoti Oshinowo), Jean (Robert) Torrance and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. They were preceded in death by their grandson, Nicholas Torrance, and siblings, Raymond Egnash, Gloria (James) Ayers, and Julie (Arthur) Clark.

They will be missed.

Due to the COVID pandemic we will postpone memorial services until we can meet again for a celebration of their lives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in their honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dear Judy, Rich, Jean and family,

We are so sorry to hear about your folks and we sure have been thinking about you all. They were great people, neighbors and friends & will be sorely missed. Hilda and the rest of our family appreciated them more than you’ll ever know. Whenever we would visit my mom, she always made a point of telling us how good they were to her. When our son and family moved into Hilda’s house after she passed, they also got to know your parents and came to love them as we did. We would visit with them often when we stopped by, always glad to see us & tell us about what was going on with them and all of you. Your dad would usually be in the garage working on one of his many projects and your mom was usually cooking up something good in the kitchen. Rich, I still remember going for a ride in his truck to the gravel pit. Lots of memories for us all for sure, and they will be missed by many. Take care of yourselves and we will see you soon.

Love,
Mark and Linda Maury

Very sorry to hear about their passing. Wonderful people!! Although it has been a while, I remember your dad repaired my parents television set in 70's. Your mom was my real estate agent when I purchased my first house in the early 90's. Very good memories of them both. I am so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
