Obituary for Doris Stough (Kreucher)

Doris Ann Stough was born in Detroit, MI on April 30, 1957 to Walter Kreucher and Evelyn Berry. Doris was raised in Detroit, the second youngest of seven children born into the family. She attended Bishop Borgess High School, where she met the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Paul James Stough. The two shared many adventures before they were married on August 17, 1979. They welcomed two children, a son, Jason Paul, and a daughter, Dana Michele. If anyone on this Earth was born to be a mother, it was Doris. She lovingly took care of her own children and welcomed all of their friends in with warmth, kindness, and a selfless heart, through her last day.

During her time with us, Doris also lovingly welcomed her pride and joy, a granddaughter, Valerie May Edwards. Doris had been planning for years the fun and games that would occur once she was a grandmother. On the day Dana shared that she was pregnant, Doris jumped up with excitement, exclaiming, "I knew it!" and proceeded to talk about how just that afternoon she was planning what her grandchildren would call her: "Gigi."

On the day Valerie was born, Doris was there to comfort and escort Dana to the hospital, where she stayed until late into the night, holding her beloved granddaughter. From that point forward, Doris and Valerie were nearly inseparable. She was the most incredible, loving, playful, imaginative grandmother a child could have. She was truly a best friend to Valerie, never ceasing to play creative games with stuffed animals or Barbies for hours, just to have time with her girl.

Doris also gracefully brought her daughter-in-law, Sarah, into the family, who she claimed to have "chose herself" as a perfect match for her son, Jason. Ever the matriarch, Doris threw the two a beautiful engagement party and bridal shower to celebrate their love and invite Sarah to be a part of the family as a second daughter, who she loved dearly as one of her own children.

Doris was the type of wife, mother, friend, grandmother, and person to drop anything for the ones she loved. She was there for every cut, bruise, bump, accident, and hospital stay with her unique brand of selfless love, never leaving someone in need behind.

Doris departed this Earth very suddenly on March 31, 2020, having shared the most incredible legacy of love, kindness, selflessness, joy, and affection. She is survived by her husband, Paul; her children, Jason (Sarah) and Dana; and her granddaughter, Valerie Edwards. Beyond that, she also leaves an enormous number of family and friends who were blessed to know her kind heart.

We will miss you, mom. Although you will always be in our hearts, life will never be the same without you.

After life, Doris continues to give to others through the Gift of Life program at Continuing in her spirit of giving, the family would appreciate your donation (in lieu of flowers) to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation to honor Doris and to bring awareness, support research, and help reduce the incidence losses like ours.

Great Spirit... Creator of All Life Everywhere... Thank You for the Love that flows through our hearts, for it is with this Love that we are able to see You in the eyes of every being before us, and as the essence of all that is.
Thank You for sending all those angels who stand firm in Love, Truth and Beauty, Trust, Harmony and Peace throughout the Cosmos, those who work with us and are here with us now.
Thank You for opening our Minds and our Hearts as we manifest Love on this Earth. Today we especially thank You for Your infinite Imagination and for bringing forth the graciousness of Doris Ann; we've shared so many Blessings on this Journey! She has moved to the Next Dimension... as shall we... yet we are entwined at the deepest levels of Consciousness: HeartMindBodySpirit where we continue to explore.
We are grateful to be One with You, Great Spirit, here and now... now is forever! So Be It. And So It Is.
