Obituary for Betty Jean Paullette

Betty Jean Paullette, age 84, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Betty was born on October 23, 1938 in Montclair, New Jersey to parents Royal Eugene and Elizabeth (Robbins) Paullette. The family relocated to Birmingham, Michigan where Betty and her brother Robert were raised. Betty met Robert Good though a mutual friend and the two began a happy courtship. After they married, Robert and Betty moved to Ann Arbor and welcomed three wonderful children, Alan, Rhonda, and Jessica.

Taking care of others is how Betty showed her love. Over the course of her life she took on various roles of caregiving: operating a daycare, being involved in elder care, and taking on various roles to support her children’s businesses. People often called her “Mom” as she was always there to lend support, listen, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Elizabeth Paullette; her daughter, Rhonda Johnston; her former spouses, Robert Good and James Carpenter; her best friend, Virgie Warren; and her dearest dog, Sammy.

Betty will be deeply missed by her children, Alan Good and Jessica Good; her grandson, Kyle Johnston; her son-in-law, Mike Johnston; her brother, Robert (Jan) Paullette; her dear friend, Gary Reynaert; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins and the many friends who called her “Mom”.

The Good/Paullette family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the care and support team at The Gilbert Residence of Ypsilanti where Betty lived for the past few years. Betty enjoyed all of the relationships made here and considered them her second family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hug someone you love and tell them how important they are to you.
