George Papadoulis, age 80, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away November 3, 2019 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born to Antonio and Evagelia in Crete, Greece. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. George met his wife Maria in a coffee shop in Athens, Greece. They moved to Ann Arbor after they married and started their family. He worked as an automotive mechanic and retired from Ann Arbor Public Schools. George enjoyed traveling, bike-riding, swimming, and watching soccer. He also loved to travel to Florida to spend time by the ocean. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria of 48 years; his children Georgia (Gary Gerber) Harns and Antonia (Donald) Drum; Grandchildren Emily, Julia, Andrew, and Zachary. A special thanks to the people at Chelsea Community Hospital for their loving care and support during his final days. A visitation will take place Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 4 until 8 pm with a Trisagion at 7 pm at Nie Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3109 Scio Church Rd, Ann Arbor. Interment will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
