Obituary for Gerald Henry Weaver

Gerald Henry Weaver, age 88, lifelong resident of Milan, Michigan, passed away at home on Friday, February 25, 2022.

Jerry was born on December 26, 1933, to James and Eva (Smith) Weaver in Milan. He graduated from Milan High School in 1951. In 1954, he accepted a position at American Airlines where he worked for 40 years until his retirement.

In 1953, Jerry married Barbara Murry, also of Milan. They built a home and raised their three children: Karen, Terrie, and James.

Jerry served the City of Milan as Councilman, Mayor Pro-Tem and Mayor. He was also an active member of both the Milan Historical Society and the Sons of the American Legion.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara; his children, Karen Watts, Terrie Hoskins, and James (Tammy) Weaver; his grandchildren, Eric (Holly) Pellegrini, Kendra (Christopher Kane) Stone, Jesse (Tonya) Hoskins, and Eva Hoskins; and his great-grandchildren, Maximus and Michael Stone, Gage and Graysen Pellegrini, David, Hamilton, and Harper Hoskins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eva Weaver; his in-laws, Allen and Viola Murry; and his son-in-law, David Hoskins.

Per Jerry’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be a private, family only graveside service.
