Homer “Leon” Tew Jr. (69), and beloved wife Theresa O’Connor Tew (62) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away on December 8, 2016. The loving couple enjoyed spending their time gardening, cooking, and being with their children and close friends.Theresa grew up in Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan, while Leon spent his childhood years in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After Leon graduated from Elon University and Theresa from Michigan State University, their lives came together through the Ann Arbor Ski Club in the 1980s. Theresa, the charismatic, storytelling, loving wife and mother was the perfect complement to her husband Leon’s calm, generous, and humble personality. They celebrated thirty years of marriage this year with a long-awaited trip to Italy. They were preceded in death by Leon’s father, Homer Leon Tew, Sr., and sister Mary Ann Tew, and Theresa’s parents, John R. O’Connor and Elizabeth O’Connor. They are survived by their children Amanda and Brian of Ann Arbor, MI; Leon’s mother, Jesse Tew, of Starke, FL; Leon’s brother David Tew (Donna) of Starke, FL and Theresa’s siblings Kathleen O’Connor of Colver, PA, Kevin O’Connor (Barbara) of Sedona, AZ, John M. O’Connor (Sue) of Ludington, MI, and Elizabeth Geis (Mark) of Waterford, MI; along with nine nieces and nephews.
