Obituary for James David Randolph

He was 82 years old.

Jimmy retired from the Ypsilanti Township Fire Department after 30 years of service.

Beloved father of Deborah L. (Mike) Bolton and Sandra A. Randolph, who survive, and grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, and Sarah Bolton. Also surviving are brothers, Raymond (Sue) and Richard; twin sisters, Mildred (Dale) Phelps and Maxine (Mike) Graham. Many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceeded in death by his parents, Raymond and B. Clair (Vipperman) Randolph; his brother, Robert (Bob) and brother RoswsRossie).

Jim was born in the Ohio River at Hockingport, Ohio. The Ohio River flood of 1937 had filled the house so they had to move to the second floor. The doctor came by boat.

Jim enjoyed listening to live bluegrass and old time country music and attended many such events at various senior centers He loved to play Bingo and cards. He belonged to several Senior Centers including: Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township, Belleville, and Saline and spent a lot of time there visiting. He was also a member of the Ypsilanti Historical Society and the Heritage Automotive Museum.

He was a loving grandpa and a great brother and friend to many, always ready to help or just share conversation with those he encountered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him including Linda Randolph (ex-wife and lifelong friend).
