Obituary for Jan Winslow Smith
Jan Smith RN MPH of Pittsfield, age 67, entered into glory with God, Friday, November 19, 2021, at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor. She was born June 6, 1954, in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of James and Anne (Branan) Winslow. Jan was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal in Ypsilanti. She was active with University of Michigan Retirees Association, the choir of Peace Lutheran Church in Southfield, and a number of health/nursing promotion activities throughout the area. Jan is a retiree from the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
On February 22, 1992, she married Bradley W. Smith, PhD CISSP in Willoughby, Ohio. She is survived by her husband; her sister, Lu Anne (Winslow) Schwarz; a niece, Anne-Marie (Jake); a nephew, Karl; and two grand nieces. She is preceded in resurrection by her parents.
The celebration of Jan's life will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal, 120 N. Huron St., Ypsilanti, on December 4, 2021 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Dr. JoAnn Kennedy Slater officiating, a brief period of visitation will proceed the service starting at 11:00 am (masks will be required).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
