Obituary for Jerry Stern

Jerry (Jerome) Stern, age 77, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, September 7th at Linden Square in Saline Michigan. Born in Jackson Michigan, son of Albert W. Stern and Norma L. Stern. He attended Jackson High School until enlisting in the U.S. Army to proudly serve his country. He worked for Clark Equipment Company, and finished his professional career with over 30+ years at EEI Global from where he retired. He lived at Roundtree Oaks Condominium Community in Ypsilanti, MI and served as President of the Association for many years. He loved baseball, football, hockey, basketball and NASCAR. He was also a hard nose sports referee, and umpire for many years. He loved his dog's, Sadi, Max, and Cubby Bear, all of which were champion cocker spaniel's. He was part owner to Cubby Bear who was a national show dog. If you were lucky enough to become a friend of Jerry's, then you would understand his loyalty, and the integrity that he had for that friendship. He would often say that he loved all his boys equally.

He will be missed by many friends, especially his family.

He is survived by his brother, Edwin Stern of Fort Pierce, Florida; sister, Doris Gadberry of Davenport, Florida; son, Todd Stern of Hudson, Michigan and Scot Stern of Leslie, Michigan; grandchildren, Samantha, Hanna, Kyla, Anika, Kaden, Paxtin, Dylan, Baylee, Savanah, and Gage.

He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Stern of Tecumseh, Michigan.

A celebration for Jerry will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Nie Funeral Home 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. He will be in state from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, followed by a 1:00 pm service.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry has requested that donations be made to the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation and/or American Cancer Society.
