Obituary for John Michael Bozeman

John Michael Bozeman was born on December 2, 2014 to Dr. Peter and Lisa Bozeman in the town of Dexter, Michigan. He was named after John Prevost Sr. and John Prevost Jr. on his mother’s side as well as John Bozeman Sr. and John Bozeman Jr. on his father’s side.

John wasn’t expected to survive at birth, but with Jehovah’s help and mercy he lived for 8 fun-filled, wonderful years with his loving family as well as dogs, cats, ferrets, chickens, ducks and other assorted animals.

John was not able to run, walk, or crawl but he was known for grabbing anything that came near him with little fingers or “tentacles” as they were fondly called.

John enjoyed being in water and having his hair washed and brushed or combed. He enjoyed being a “sleep-fish” after a bath and snuggling with his brother before bed.

Being John’s siblings taught his brothers and sisters self-sacrifice, resilience and strength. His father learned the joy of having his own family.

Being John’s parent taught his mother to be humble, and maybe for that reason Jehovah drew her to attend the 2018 Memorial for Jesus Christ and then to begin studying the Bible with Laura Batlin. John’s mother was baptized in October 2020 and enjoyed serving Jehovah with him at her side.

John fell asleep in death on December 8, 2022 at the Mott’s Children’s Hospital.

John is survived by both of his parents; and four siblings, Free Prevost, Rhain Prevost, Belladonna Vaughn and Orion Vaughn. He is survived also by his grandparents, John Prevost Sr. and Veronica Prevost; two aunts, Nell Mackey and Lucy Mackey; as well as extended family in West Michigan.

John was a source of happiness, hugs, smiles and high-fives.

He was a treasured son, beloved brother, and a great kid.

He will be deeply, deeply missed.
