Obituary for Josetta A. Howes

We lost our cherished Josetta, at the age of 89, suddenly on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at her home in Saline, MI. She grew up in Detroit attending St. Catherine’s School and maintained those friendships for life but her parents died before she was out of high school. Jo was married for six years and widowed, then married for 32 years and widowed again. She lived in Michigan, then Wisconsin, then back to Michigan to rejoin the majority of her family. Throughout her life, Jo enjoyed her bowling teams, golf, neighborhood gourmet parties, various social clubs, travel, church every Sunday; and was an expert gamer in cards, dominos club, crosswords, scrabble, puzzles, bingo, or anything. She worked as a secretary early in life, a skill she used to help her husbands in their businesses until 1997. She held multiple committee head positions in her favorite charity, the Redford Suburban League for many years. She was a fan of technology and relied heavily on iPhone, iPad and social media to keep in communication with her huge family and friends, old and new. It was her circle of family and friends that Josetta most cherished. Jo had a contagious positive attitude and unshakable faith that we will miss along with her ready and hearty laugh. She was sunshine, and although none of us will ever be the same without her, we are left with a lasting example of pure love.

Josetta is survived by her adoring children, Jeanne Myers (Greg) Gorman, Karen Howes (Warren) Foust, Margaret/Peggy Howes (Todd) Kephart; James (Andrea Rose) Howes, and Patrick (Christine Knapp) Howes; grandchildren, Melissa Howes (Douglas) Saad, Megan Howes (Daniel) Roth, Sophie Kephart, Kimberly Kolc (Aaron) Hess, Rachel Howes, Jonathan (Kim Brems) Raschke, Paul (Paddy Donovan) Raschke, Robert (Felicia Myers) Bulgozdy, Daniel Bulgozdy, Stephen Howes, Brad (Jeannette Perry) Howes, Brian (Jennifer DiStephano) Howes, and Benjamin (Sherri VanEngelen) Howes; great-grandchildren, Caleb (Amanda Barger) Fiorini, Taylor Brems, Noah Dresbach, Noah Howes, Tobin Brems, Madalyn Howes, Drake Hess, Jack Howes, Nolan Raschke, Emma Howes, Evelyn Howes, Eddie Raschke, Nathan Howes, Josetta Raschke, and Dylan Roth; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who brought her so much happiness and laughter.
