Obituary for Julia M. Wright

Julia M. Wright was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the age of 71 years old, in the comfort of her home.

Julia committed her life to the Lord at a young age. She was ordained as an Evangelist in her mid-forties and committed her life to fulfilling God’s purpose. She lived a life of servanthood to God and those around her. She believed in the power of prayer and held a strong, abiding faith in God. Julia was a prayer partner to a myriad of people from all walks of life. Often called upon to “get a prayer through”, as she was known for her powerful, heartfelt prayers. Her quarterly mailings of The Daily Bread to family and friends across the miles will be missed. The anointing on Julia’s life has left an indelible mark on countless lives.

While ministry to others was an important part of Julia’s life, her pride was in her family and creating a home filled with care and love. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals and was known for her amazing pecan pies and melt-in-your-mouth, buttery homemade rolls. Julia loved spending time with her grandchildren and sharing comedic stories of her childhood with them, which led to lots of laughter.

Julia’s love for classic black and white TV shows and movies has been passed down to her children, who to this day fondly continue the tradition with their children. Many shows like Andy Griffith, Leave It To Beaver, I Love Lucy and Father Knows Best were watched in her home on an almost daily basis.

Julia wore a mean “church hat” and was dressed impeccably to the nine whenever you saw her. She believed the way you present yourself to others was important and taught her children to always be presentable when they left their home.

Julia is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Samuel Wright, Jr., 6 children; Donna Davis, Benjamin Stevenson (DeAnn), Clifton Stevenson (Debbie), Kimmie Wright, Laura Smith (Will), Shannon Wright; 9 grandchildren; Christian, Krista, Werner Matthew, Jasmine, Quentin, Jaxson, Christian, Jada and Melia and 1 brother; Freddie Nealy II (Doris), 6 nieces and nephews; Shay Nealy, Deidre Perry, Kenta Nealy (Tracey), Raylon Reaves Freddie Nealy III (Mindy), and Rednar Reaves; 18 grandnieces/nephews; Jasmine, Jessica, Alexandria, Javon, Johnnie, Joanna, Demarcus, Drake, Kylan, Kennedy, Jordan, Brycen, Khloe, Darian, Adrian, Layla, Freddie IV, Maliyah, and Nathan. Julia opened her heart to include others outside her family who became an extension of her family, the time and love that dearest friend LaWanda Ingram and her 3 daughters; Crasenthea, LaTisha and Renee and treasured friend Nicole Rosser and her 3 daughters; Courtnie, Nia and Bre shared with Julia will always be cherished.
Julia is preceded in death by her father, Freddie Nealy; mother, Helen Taylor and three siblings; Brevoice Nealy, Arville Reaves and Henry Nealy.
