Obituary for Kathryn Butler Yarmain

Kathryn passed away peacefully from this life on January 3, 2021. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 5, 1932 to Frank and Kathryn Fahey, who predeceased her.

Kathryn lived a full and joyful life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her passion and talent as a special education teacher touched countless students and their families over the years.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Richard Yarmain; her children, Mark Butler, Karen Giglio, Craig (Karen) Butler; daughters-in-law, Nancy Butler and Donna Skach; grandchildren, Matthew (Allison Reimus) Butler, Ryan (Andrea) Butler, Krysta Butler, Jennifer Butler (Jesse Condie), Michael Butler, and Joseph Butler; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Henry, Bridget, Stella, Elliot, and Colette. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Gilbert Butler; son, David Butler; and son-in-law, Gary Giglio.

A funeral mass will take place Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:30am with visitation beforehand at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2250 E. Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. The mass will also be available for viewing online through the church’s website, www.stfrancisa2.com. A burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Jackson, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathryn’s honor to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or to your local Salvation Army.
