Linda Ann Lucas Gleichert born March 24, 1939 in Fairfield, Connecticut to Van Court and Virginia (Bunting) Lucas, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Glacier Hills Senior Living Community in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Linda graduated from Emma Willard School, Troy, NY, in 1957. She was a student at Wellesley College, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Marietta College before marrying Arthur Brooks Gleichert on November 15, 1959. Linda and Brooks were married for 59 years and together they had three children, whom they raised in Ann Arbor, MI. Linda devoted her life to her family, staying home with her children until they were grown and then joining Brooks in their family business, NoIR Laser Company, where Linda worked as comptroller until symptoms from Alzheimer’s Disease made it impossible for her to continue working. Linda was passionate about golf, sailing and swimming. Together, Linda and Brooks acquired unique vacation homes: an island in Northern Michigan with no plumbing or electricity, which required boating skills to access, and a cabin in Alta, Utah that could only be reached in winter via chairlifts and skis. Linda was happiest at these remote, rustic cabins with her family. She is survived by her children, Pam Webster Ziegler, Anna (Michael) Smiglewski, Amy Gleichert Bothner, Marc (Kim) Gleichert; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Van Court Lucas; her brother, Van Court Lucas Jr.; and her husband, Arthur Brooks Gleichert.
