Obituary for Margaret J. Bond

Margaret Bond has passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the age of 91.

Margaret Bond was born in 1931 and has lived in Ann Arbor since 1962. She was the pianist star of the Bowling Green State University music department and came within a hair of graduating with the highest grade average in the whole University in 1952. She played a concerto with the University orchestra and later, another one with the Eastern Michigan University orchestra. She had a long career as a piano teacher and performer.

Margaret was very studious from an early age and, while participating in every available extra-curricular activity in high school, she became valedictorian of her class. She loved nature and hiked with her children in the Colorado Rockies every summer while they were young. Her travels included U.S. National Parks, Europe, New Zealand, and once around the world. Margaret was also known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies, which her dear family and friends will surely miss enjoying.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Bond; two children, Susan Tobias and husband Abdul of Columbia, MD, and Brian R. Bond and wife Lidia of Montrose, CO; and her grandchildren, Brian B. Bond and Brianna Bond, living in Colorado.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Kerrytown Concert House, 415 N. 4th Ave. in Ann Arbor.
