Obituary for Martha Arnet Moomey
Surrounded by love and prayers, Martha “Martie” Arnet Moomey passed peacefully November 1, 2022.
Martie was born December 13, 1958 to Leona “Marge” and Frederick “Larry” Arnet. She joined her family of siblings, Joe, Steve, and Caryl.
After graduating high school, Martie married Jimmey Floyd Moomey on December 16, 1978. In 1979, Martie gave birth to their son, Jimmey. Together Martie and Floyd raised their children, Jimmey, Heather, and Noel.
She worked at High Point caring for children with disabilities as well as caretaking for one of the families privately. She gave her heart and soul to those in need and continued to do so until she passed. Martie worked many years in the family business Arnet's Monuments as a memorial counselor and loved to help others through their hardest decisions in life.
After retirement in 2016, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and was a frequent attendee at many of their events and well known as "Hockey Grandma."
Martie’s husband preceded her in death on July 15, 2011 as did her mother on April 18, 2008, her father on April 5, 2011, her brother, Joe on Sept. 25, 1973, and brother, Steve on January 4, 2022.
She is survived by her sister, Caryl Arnet; her son, Jimmey (Tanya); her grandchildren, Tory and Adam; her stepdaughter, Heather and her daughter, Hannah.
Visitation will be held at Nie Funeral Home - Liberty Road Chapel on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Nie Funeral Home - Liberty Road Chapel on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 10:00 am. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor.
