Obituary for Mary Joan Hume
Mary Joan Hume, age 87, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on March 25, 1932 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to parents Wayne and Mary (Howard) Dwyer. She met Dean F. Hume though friends in Ann Arbor and were married for 53 wonderful years until his passing in 2004. Together they raised five children together. She worked for Avon Cosmetics for many years as a sales representative and later as a district manager. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed watching any basketball, especially University of Michigan, reading, and playing all types of games.
Mary is survived by her children, Vicki (Nick III) Schneider, Deborah (Ed) Zielinski, Pamela Rotti, Kristine Moffat, and Mark (Kelliann) Hume; nine grandchildren: Nicholas (Katie) Schneider IV, Brian (Krystal) Schneider, Paul Krause, Deana Rotti, Chad (Nicole) Hume, Cassie (Kendall) McDaniel, Emily Gilstorff, Michael and Carl Moffat; seven great-grandchildren: Nicholas Schneider V, Kaden Schneider, Sophia Rotti, Callie McDaniel, Kendall McDaniel Jr., Jocelyn and Jared Hansen.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Nie Family Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor from 3-8 pm with a rosary service at 7 pm. Funeral mass will take place on Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 411 Florence St, Ypsilanti, at 10 am. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 9 am. Burial will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery in Ann Arbor.
