Mary E. Vielhaber died December 17, 2019 at the age of 66. She was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Albert and Elizabeth Vielhaber on February 7, 1953. After 42 years of dedicated service, she was currently serving as a Professor of Management at Eastern Michigan University. Mary served as an Acting Associate Graduate Dean, as well as the co-director of the Master’s program in Human Resources and Organizational Development. She has co-authored several books. She provided executive coaching and communication consulting for a variety of clients. Memorial contributions may be directed to the EMU Foundation for the Mary E. Vielhaber Scholarship Fund in memory of Mary.
Mary is the beloved sister of Judy (John) Joly, the late Jim (Victoria) Vielhaber, Kathleen Vielhaber, the late Bill (Kathy) Vielhaber, Rosemary (Joseph) Ewing, Robert (Joyce) Vielhaber, Vincent (Sylvia) Vielhaber, David (Vickie) Vielhaber, Anne (Jeff) Gates, Patricia (Joe) Thesing, the late Chris (Doug) Nestor, Ellen (Rob) McEndree, and Timothy (Sue) Vielhaber. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends & colleagues. She will also be missed by her loyal and loving dog, Riley.
A memorial gathering will take place Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5-8 pm at Nie Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor. A Mass to celebrate Mary’s life will take place Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Student Parish, 331 Thompson St., Ann Arbor.
