Obituary for Matthew Wrubel

We are deeply saddened to share that Matthew Wrubel has passed away. Matthew died on Friday November 15, 2019 at the age of 53. Matt passed away from complications following emergency heart surgery.

Matthew was a graduate of Father Gabriel Richard High school in Ann Arbor Michigan (1984). He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts and was currently employed by XPO Logistics where he worked as a logistics manager.

Matthew – aka Matt, Uncle Matt, Wrubs, Matteo, Foof - had a love and zest for life. He had a huge heart and a ready smile. Matt loved his family, friends and spending time with them. He was always there for you and made sure you knew it.

Some of Matt’s favorite things were sports, country music and tequila! He always said tequila cured everything!! Matt was a fighter. He fought through many health issues over the past 20 years, but especially this past year. We will miss his smile, his laugh, and his daily phone calls. We are appreciative of your love and support during this difficult time.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Richard and Margaret; his siblings, Christine, Jennifer (John) Roeske, and Mary (Mike) Watson; and his nieces and nephews, Austin, Michael, Richard, Benedict, Jacob, Kolbe, Ignatius, Christian, Margaret, Matthew, and Joseph.

Memorial contributions may be made in Matthew's honor to the Hope Clinic (Hope Medical Clinic, Inc., P. O. Box 980311, Ypsilanti, MI 48198-0311) of to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231).
