Obituary for Nadine Lallou Gentles

Ms. Nadine Lallou Gentles, 54, residing in Wellesley, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 5, 2021 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Nadine was born to Madeleine and Leonard Gentles, in Kingston, Jamaica. She graduated from Queen High School in Kingston and immigrated to Evanston, Illinois in December 1982. Nadine is survived by her mother, Madeleine, her nephew, Gregory, her niece, Ashley, and her beloved life partner, Patrice Blanc. Nadine was preceded in death by her father, Leonard, and her two sisters, Jaqueline and Dayle.

She started her professional life in the real estate business in Florida, in the early 90s. She then studied in Paris for a year in 1994 before joining a major financial brokerage firm in Chicago. She even tried her hand at modeling, early in her life. Nadine lived and worked in Paris, Singapore, Chicago, London, and New York before settling down in the Boston area in 2017. Nadine was an exceptional writer and deeply brilliant – leading her to having had a very fulfilling professional life.

Nadine was a talented piano player, loved the Opera, and was a fan of classical music. During the pandemic, she took on baking, trying her hand at delicious cakes, and sweets. Patrice and Nadine shared a love of travel and exotic foods. Nadine especially loved the French culture, a culture she was immersed in early in her life, and always cherished. When in Paris, she would spend hours visiting museums, promenading in the city, taking in the sites, the people, and the culture.

Nadine is a deeply kind and good person – she was extremely organized and always sought out perfection. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, aunt and partner, always looking after and caring for her family, especially in the hardest of times. Nadine’s loyalty to her loves one was unfaltering. She expected nothing but perfection for her loved ones.

Patrice found in Nadine a loving, caring, dedicated partner, with whom he could share everything – the best, like the worst moments in life. She was always by his side.

Patrice and Nadine shared some wonderful years together – Patrice could spend hours cooking for her, listening to her playing the piano, and simply enjoying each other’s presence.

Nadine’s faith was often a refuge for her – she turned to God many of times as a guiding light. Her beautiful life will forever be remembered by her loved ones.
