Nageeb Abdeldaim Doma of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away on November 30, 2021, at age 84. He was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1937 to parents Mohamed and Zeinab Abdeldaim. He graduated from Cairo University in 1959 and immigrated to the United States in 1969. He began working at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor where he met the love of his life, Phyllis.
Nageeb went on to pursue his master’s degree in accounting at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1971. Nageeb and Phyllis married in 1975, and soon welcomed their first child Mourad (1977), followed by Lila (1980) and Sara (1983). Nageeb worked for many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield, eventually leaving to start his own accounting firm which brought him so much joy and success. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, but there was always time for family fun and for many memorable family vacations.
In a well-earned retirement, Nageeb and Phyllis enjoyed spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida, and the rest of the year in their Ann Arbor home. Spending time with his family and wonderful grandchildren were his biggest joys in his retirement. He loved his collection of photo albums, showcasing his life in Egypt and many fun-filled adventures with his family. Those albums are now prized family heirlooms. He loved to share stories of his life with his children and grandchildren. Most of all, he loved his family always, and gave us the guidance that made us all who we are today. He was so incredibly proud of each of his children and grandchildren. It was a life well-lived with so many cherished memories to pass on to future generations.
Nageeb is survived by his wife, Phyllis Doma and their children, Mourad (Amy) Doma, Lila (Jon) Jay, and Sara (Austin) Schneider, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Amir, Charlotte, Jordan, Nadia, Jolee, Aurora and Remy.
