Obituary for Peggy Ann (Jones) Busby

Peggy Ann Busby, age 81, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Peggy was born on August 3, 1940, the eldest child of William and Allie (Walters) Jones in West Liberty, Kentucky. She spent her childhood in Kentucky with her younger brother, Danny Lee, until the age of seven when the Jones family relocated to Ypsilanti, Michigan. Peggy attended Ypsilanti High School where she had many fond memories of being a member of the drum and bugle corps.

Peggy married Glenn Milligan whom she met in Ypsilanti and the two welcomed a daughter, Sheryle Milligan. The two later divorced but continued to have a wonderful relationship and shared friendship for many years. Later, Peggy married Bobby Lee Coldiron and lived in Ypsilanti together until they separated.

On June 20, 1978, Peggy married Charles Cammon Busby and the two enjoyed making memories and merging their family together until his passing in 2006. She and Charles successfully owned and operated Busby Freight Lines, a trucking company, and Black and White Cab Co. of Ypsilanti for over 25 years. Peggy was an integral part of the business operations and enjoyed helping her husband run both transportation companies. For Peggy and Charles, family was everything and they enjoyed being known as “Pegs” and “Papa” to their grandchildren.

Peggy was an avid collector of teddy bears and enjoyed getting them as gifts from her loved ones. Every year she looked forward to setting out her large Christmas village to admire. Her heart was filled with love for animals- she loved both cats and dogs. What brought Peggy the most joy was spending time with her family and taking care of those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Allie Jones; her husband, Charles Busby; her granddaughter, Malissa Dawn Milligan; and her brother, Danny Lee Jones.

Peggy will be deeply missed by her daughters, Sheryle Milligan and Ann (Adam Johnson) Busby; her grandchildren, Amy Messer and Lisa (Ernie) Teem, her Nieces and Nephews and all of her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 10:00 am until the time of a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Nie Family Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor. Entombment will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery of Ann Arbor.

In lieu of flowers, the Busby family would appreciate memorial donations to the GoFundMe (Here) set up to assist with the funeral and estate expenses on Peggy's behalf. Your love and kindness is much appreciated.
