Obituary for Bob Barden
Bob, age 67, passed away on November 15, 2022 in Ann Arbor, Michigan surrounded by his family. Bob was born on November 14, 1955 at St. Joe’s in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Growing up, Bob attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Ann Arbor and graduated with an Associates Degree in business from Washtenaw Community College. He married Marti on June 12, 1982 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Saline, Michigan.
Ultimately, Bob took over the family business, Ann Arbor Credit Bureau, from his father. Bob was a leader in the industry as president of both the state and national chapters. He truly enjoyed his work and retired in 2019.
Bob was a pillar of the community in many ways including his time as President of Kiwanis, a member of Jaycees, and his involvement in the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival.
Bob loved to travel and ride his motorcycle on the open road. He was an avid music lover and played guitar for decades in a local band, Stormfront. Most of all, Bob treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marti Barden; his children, Beth Barden, Bobby (Katie) Barden, Jenni Barden; grandchildren, Briar, Lily, Ruby, and Corabelle; his mother, Marge Barden; his siblings, Kathy Barden, Barb (Tom) Carlson, Mary (Rob) Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, RJ Barden.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at the Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Gathering starts at 10:00 a.m. with a ceremony at 11:00 a.m.
