Obituary for Robert Thomas Martinez

Robert Thomas Martinez, age 64, tragically passed away on the 30th of August due to an unexpected stroke.

Robert was born on May 15, 1958, and grew up in a small town in Michigan where he thrived in school and in his social life. He may be fifth child of nine but he made it his mission that you knew who Robert Martinez was!

At age 18, he moved to California and went on to do a variety of jobs. He began working at Anaheim’s Arrowhead Pond in the warehouse and worked his way to management. It was during his time at Arrowhead Pond where he met Maria Gomez who he would later marry. Together, they welcomed four kids: Jacqueline Delores Martinez, Kateline Cristine Martinez, Robert Thomas Martinez II, and Alice Ashley Martinez.

Robert proved himself to be a wonderful and caring father, and although he and Maria separated, he did his best to maintain being present for his children. He always put in the extra effort for his children, taking them to drive around in the mountains, to playing in the park for so many hours, he never stopped loving them with all of his heart!

Robert was a character; one moment he would be cracking jokes with his kids about his “ringtone” and another was talking about his mighty school days as well as his upbringing. The best way to describe Robert would be his green jeep; to him that was his first kid. He had that green jeep for more than 20+ years and he cherished that car almost as much as his kids! The memories of him and his jeep won’t be forgotten.

Robert is survived by his four children, Jacqueline, Kateline, Robert, and Alice; and his granddaughter, Callie May.

Although he has left his four children behind, as well as a granddaughter, Callie May Hernandez, he will always be in their hearts and minds for the rest of their lives.

Private cremation services have taken place.

Please share a memory with the family on the Tribute Wall.
