Obituary for Robert Garfield Webster

Robert Garfield Webster was born on September 29, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Hattie and Thomas Webster. He was the youngest of four sons. All have preceded him in death. Robert graduated from Central High in Detroit, Michigan. Robert was drafted in the United States Army where he served two years and was honorably discharged. While in the Army he sang in the military choir throughout Europe.

For many years he was a devoted member of Greater Quinn AME Church in Detroit, Michigan. As an active member of the church, he sang in the choir and was also a member of the trustee board. He lived a full life as a kind, generous, and loving person who enjoyed visiting and reminiscing about relatives. His hobbies were playing the piano and singing.

Robert Garfield Webster passed away peacefully. He is survived by his son, Robert Overstreet; his grandson, Milek Chambliss; and his devoted sisters-in-laws, Sylvia Webster, Delores Webster, Doris Webster; his cousin, Verna Brown; and numerous other relatives.

Robert will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who knew him.

A private celebration of life will be held in 2021.
