Obituary for Ross A. Reed Sr.
Ross Albert "Roscoe" Reed Sr. passed away on July 9, 2022, at Henry Ford Hospital of Wyandotte. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on November 15, 1949, to the late Albert Reed Jr. and Mary Lee Reed.
Ross graduated from Belleville High School and went on to enlist in the United States Army. Ross was Honorably Discharged, and a decorated Vietnam Veteran. Ross then retired from General Motors after fifteen years of service. Ross' favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
Ross was preceded in death by both his parents Albert Reed Jr. and Mary Lee Reed, daughter Renee Reed; brothers Lunnell Reed and Ira Lee Reed; sisters Lula Pearl Roseberry, Rozenia Reed and Martha Arnett Jean-Gilles.
He is survived by his former wife Shirley Conley, their Children: Daphne Reed and Ross Albert Reed II; Granddaughters: Alaysia Renee Reed and Angelique White; Grandsons: Ross Albert Reed III and Anthony Taylor Jr.; two great grandchildren; Siblings: Daniel Ellington, Romney (Corisa) Reed, Albert Reed III, Diane Reed, and Christine (Terry) Herring; Aunt Lou Bertha Campbell, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at Nie Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Friends and family will gather for a viewing at 10:00 am and a service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial with military honors will take place immediately following the service at United Memorial Garden Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan.
