Ruth Berman Dresner, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, quilter, and friend to many, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Ann Arbor, MI at the age of 96.

Ruth’s shared her long, rich and happy life with her husband of 75 years, Joseph Dresner.

She leaves behind her daughter Julie Dresner (husband Paul Maibaum), grand-daughter, Shanna Maibaum (husband Joe Ruggirello,). Son, Andy Dresner (wife Cindy Allen). Grandson, Aaron Dresner (wife Jo Horn), great-grandchildren Oscar and Opal. Granddaughter Rosie Dresner (husband Steve Schulist), and great-grandson, Eli Schulist.

Ruth was raised in the Bronx, went to nursing school, met Joe at a Manhattan roller-rink and the two were married when Joe returned from his service in the Army Air Corps at the end of WW2.

Besides Ruth’s love and dedication working as a nurse for many years, she was a great cook, especially handy with her baked goods, and an extremely talented quilter and seamstress. She sewed many of the clothes her daughter Julie wore as a child, clothes for Julie’s Barbie Doll, clothes and quilts for her grand-children and great grand-children, as well as outfits for their dolls and colorful embroidered wall hangings and pillows.

Ruth had many friends and she loved her family, they meant everything to her.
Her family knows that Ruth is resting peacefully, having “slipped the surly bonds of earth”, but they will miss her immensely and forever.
