Obituary for Ruth Hancock Strang
Ruth Strang went to Baldwin School, WEllesley College (1944), New York Medical College (1948), Fellowships at John Hopkins & Boston Childrens Hospital. Pediatric Cardiologist at the University of Michigan Hospitals, Co-Founded the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program, Chair of Pediatrics at Wayne County General Hospital. Co-Authored "Clinical Aspects of Operable Heart Disease".
She retired from Medicine at the age of 65; then went to seminary and was ordained an Episcopal Priest in 1995. She was the Priest at St. John's Episcopal Church, Howell, MI. She retired from ordained ministry at the age of 86.
Survived by her Dear Friends Lee Shields and Barbara Cavin.
A memorial service will be held 4:30 pm Saturday, February 29, 2020 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 306 N. Division, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrews breakfast program, The Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross (SCHC), 46 Elm St, Byfield, MA 01922 or Running Strong for American Indian Youth, 8301 Richmond Highway, Ste. 200, Alexandria, VA 22309.
