Obituary for Sharan Alicia Bosio (Kassir)

Sharan Alicia (Kassir) Bosio, 68, wife of John Bosio of Ann Arbor MI, died peacefully at home on Saturday September 21, 2019 after a long battle with breast cancer. Sharan was born July 1, 1951 in Lansing, MI to Albert and Florence Kassir. She was a 1969 graduate from Livonia Franklin High School where she was a member of the choir. She obtained a certification in medical transcription and worked at U of M Mott’s Children’s Hospital for several years until the first of her three children were born. Sharan focused her time and energy on her family until her youngest child started school. She then worked for the Ann Arbor Public School system as an assistant.
Sharan met her husband, John, through The Word of God community and later married on April 16, 1983 in Ann Arbor, MI. Sharan had a deep love for Jesus, children, sewing, cooking and music. She loved to sing and play her guitar. Sharan spent countless hours over the years hand-making gifts for expectant mothers and children in the community, as well as the Neo-Natal ICU at U of M Hospital. She found joy in giving to those around her, despite her own struggles with her health. She was a loving wife, sister, daughter, and a devoted mother. She especially adored spending time with her grandchildren. Sharan was a faithful member of Ann Arbor Assembly of God and will be deeply missed by family, friends and those who were touched by her kindness.
Sharan is survived by her husband of 36 years, John; children Phillip Bosio, Alicia (Kevin) McPhail and Shelly (Ricky) Lopez; grandchildren Sariel Lopez, Emelia McPhail and Drew McPhail; sister Barbara (Dan) Ovenshire and Kathy (Leo) Michelotti, sister-in-law Shirley Kopsi and Ruth Kopsi. Sharan was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Florence Kassir. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Sharan’s life on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11am at Ann Arbor Assembly of God (2455 Washtenaw Ave.) Floral arrangements may be sent to the Ann Arbor Assembly of God between 9 and 10 am, day of the memorial. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Sharan’s name to the University of Michigan Breast Cancer Research. Luncheon will be provided on-site following the memorial.
