Obituary for Thomas Paul Huizenga

Thomas Paul Huizenga, age 68, passed away on January 15, 2021, after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.

Thomas was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 20, 1952, to parents, Leroy and Dorothy. Shortly after, his family moved to Southern California. Thomas graduated from the University of Southern California, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He was able further his career by helping companies by consulting. His work led him to many places, some which include: Florida, California, Connecticut, and Michigan, as well as around the world to places such as: Russia, South Africia, and most of Europe. Later in life, Thomas was also ever so fortunate to marry his wife, Azita Azadi, in 2003. Many beautiful memories were created throughout the 18 years of marriage they shared together.

Beyond being kind, giving, and all around having a sweet-soul, Thomas was also known to be a wonderful caregiver to his wife when times were tough, but also to other family members when needed. He was always around to want to give a helping hand, regardless of what situation you might have been in.

When health permitted, Thomas always enjoyed running, tennis, playing golf, and college football (University of Michigan, of course). He was also quite the animal whisperer. Any animal in sight, he was sure to gain their affection. Finding joy in the simple things, Thomas was easy going and lived life to the fullest.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Azita; brother, Ken; daughters, Jennifer Colavito and her husband, and Emily Huizenga; step-son, Houtan Vaghayenegar, and six grandchildren.
