Vikki Lynn James has passed away on May 10, 2022 at the age of 68 in Los Angeles, California.
Early childhood experiences shaped some of Vikki’s passions that she cultivated throughout her life. Father’s job took our family from Detroit to Chicago to Staten Island NY to Lexington KY all by the age of seven. She continued to travel, often abroad for the rest of her life. Her brother was born when she was two years old. Since he was named after his father, her parents tried to teach her to call him Junior, but she persisted and insisted on pronouncing it “Juney”. ALL FAMILY, regardless of distance, called him that for decades.
Once Vicky got a role in the Leestown Junior High musical, she never stopped seeking the opportunities to perform. After receiving her Bachelors of Theatrical Arts from University of Kentucky in 1975, she moved back with her folks, who had been transferred to Denver, CO and participated in traveling theatrical troupes through her strong church affiliation. Eventually she decided to move to Los Angeles and “go for it”. She found her home, and lived in various Southern California communities for the next 45 years, participating in all her church's musical outlets.
Vikki’s academic acumen and dedicated sense of responsibility and reliability let her to a career in accounting/bookkeeping for property management companies primarily, Cal-American of Los Angeles and NewMark Merrill of Woodland Hills, CA.
She never liked or understood football, but somehow during her brief stay in Denver, Vikki developed an undying love for the Broncos. Religiously each Sunday after church she would go to the Sports Bar and watch the Broncos. She would sometimes call her father or brother on the phone to explain to her what was going on on the field. When the LA Rams won the Super Bowl this year, the first thing she said to him was “but wait ‘till you see the Broncos next year!” Starbucks - It was her other “place of worship”. While making arrangements to leave California and come live with her brother in Michigan, convincing her that there was a Starbucks within 1/2 mile of home brought her comfort.
We Love You! from your family
