Obituary for Willem Hendrikus Barnard
Willem Hendrikus Barnard, age 69, of Harland Township, Michigan, passed away on Septemeber 19, 2020. He was born on October 28, 1950 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa to parents Marthinus Christoffel Christiaan Barnard and Elvira Chatherina Helena Haverman.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Willem was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Bernhard and Tinus.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Barnard; his children, Bernhard, Will, Adre, Feuren, Vicky and step-children, Haley, Jeremy, Nicholas, Eric, Christopher, Cynthia, Anthony, Therese, and Bridget. He will also be missed by his sisters, Betty, Nellie, and Elvira.
Willem was a technical mechanic and specialized in robotics. He was most recently with PICO robotics team. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching cricket, being near the ocean, traveling, and spending time his family who he adored.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 1st from 2 pm until 6 pm at the Jenkins residence, 4898 West Shaffer Road, Pinckney, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm.
